'Last Chance U' star Isaiah Wright says that his goal is to play in the NFL, having recently been released from prison.

The former East Mississippi running back, along with three other men, was accused of robbing and killing an 18-year old Caleb Radford in July 2017.

Wright claimed he was not present when Radford was murdered, although he did admit to taking part in the planning of the robbery.

Having spent 11 months in prison, he struck a plea deal which led to his release.

Speaking to TMZ Sports, Wright says the worst part of his time behind bars was that it kept him away from the football field.

Some days I got to a point where all I would think about is football... And I can't do much about it because there's nothing to do in there. There wasn't no work out, there wasn't no weights, there wasn't no TV, there wasn't no radio, there wasn't nothing.

His rough upbringing was detailed during his time on the Netflix series, with Wright also losing an unborn child during filming.

Having originally received offers from a number of Division I schools prior to season two of the show, injuries led to Wright transferring to Division II West Georgia University after his sophomore season at East Mississippi, although he left the squad after only a few months.

Having been placed on five years of probation as a condition of his release, the former-standout says his goal is simple: return to school and get back playing to playing football.

Just pick up where I left off on the football journey as of right now...

I really want to get back to that Division I level and get back to the environment that I was used to.

Ultimately Wright's dream remains the same as it always has, he wants to play in the NFL.

Yes, the goal is the NFL...

I feel like my purpose that I was put on this world by God ain't been met yet, and I'm still trying to find it.
