Deshaun Watson of the Houston Texans donated his first ever NFL game cheque to team employees affected by flooding due to Hurricane Harvey.
Watson is an NFL rookie who taken with pick 12 by the Texans in the first round of this year's draft. He's played three games for the team so far, including an impressive performance in a loss to the New England Patriots at the weekend.
The 22-year-old presented cheques totalling $27,353 to three cafeteria workers, telling them:
For what you all do for us every day and never complain, I really appreciate you all, so I wanted to give my first game check to y'all to help y'all out in some type of way. Here you guys go.
According to the Houston Texans' website, Watson has been the beneficiary of generosity in the past. When he was 11, his family was given a home through Habitat for Humanity.
Now he's giving back.
