Colin Kaepernick has not played in the NFL since last season, but he remains one of the most famous players in the League, due to his social stances.
The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback became a pariah in certain quarters last season after kneeling before matches during the national anthem. He did so in protest of police violence towards African-Americans around the country.
Speaking on Sunday evening, CBS's Jason La Canfora stated that Kaepernick is desperate to return to any team that will have him. He also claimed that the quarteback will stop kneeling during the anthem in his bid to fully focus on football.
He's not planning on kneeling. He's going to donate all his jersey sales and he's planning on standing for the anthem, if given the opportunity.
Kaepernick's alleged stance came as a surprise to many, as new spread of his reported decision. In recent weeks, his plight has become even more publicised on the back of league-wide protests from the players.
It turns out that La Canfora had never spoken to Kaepernick directly about his thoughts on standing or kneeling during the anthem.
Wanted to clarify one thing regarding @Kaepernick7. When I was asked about his whether or not he would sit or stand for anthem ...

Standing for Anthem wasn't something that I spoke to Colin about sat. I relayed what had been reported about him standing in the future...

Reports about @Kaepernick7 standing for anthem had not been refuted. However, I cant say if they are true or not. Colin and I didn't discuss

Colin would have to address any future demonstrations. I didn't ask him if he would sit or stand. Our chat primarily about his will to play

The 29-year-old quarterback has not played since leaving the 49ers last season, despite numerous positions becoming available around the league.
Last week, Tennessee Titans tried out numerous veteran quarterbacks as they look for a short-term replacement for the injured Marcus Mariota. Kaepernick was not invited to practice with the team in a bid of earning a contract.
According to La Canfora, the quarterback is practicing every morning in New Jersey, while helping children in New York in the afternoons. His sole focus remains on returning to the NFL.
While Kaepernick has not commented directly on La Canfora's report, a tweet was more than telling.
A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.

He remains without a team, and looks unlikely to find one in the coming weeks.
