After being unable to hit the baseball while standing at the plate during the second inning of the Tamba Bay Rays game against the Miami Marlins on Wednesday, Carlos Gomez had to find something else to hit once in the dugout.
That something was the water cooler.
Gomez was upset as the umpire had called a foul ball when the 32-year-old felt he had been hit by a pitch. Striking out on the next pitch, Gomez took out his frustration on the water cooler before landing an impressive uppercut on some Gatorade.
"When I'm angry, I'm not thinking really well," he told ESPN after the game. "If they fine for me this, I've got enough money to pay."
