The NFL twitter account today hosted an absolutely bizarre story that left the world asking: Is Roger Goodell dead?
The official NFL account tweeted the following this afternoon:
The portion of the account's 19.1 million followers who were online at the time went into meltdown:
The tweet was then deleted, and a number of the most respected NFL journalists confirmed the account was hacked:
The @NFL account was hacked. Roger Goodell is fine. Carry on.

Remarkably, having realised they were hacked, the account failed to change their password, and the hacking continued:
What a morbid act. Goodell was in the news earlier today, with NESN publishing a tweet featuring a New England Patriots fan giving Goodell the finger, in anger at the league's treatment of Tom Brady:

Had the news actually been true, this man could have been remembered as one of History's greatest monsters. Thankfully it is not true, so perhaps that title belongs to the person who did the hacking.
