Its been quite a week for Ireland's WWE star Becky Lynch. The night after winning the 2019 women's Royal Rumble in front of 48,000 fans in Phoenix, she showed up on Monday Night Raw to lay down her Wrestlemania challenge to Raw Women's champ Ronda Rousey. On Tuesday night she socked Charlotte Flair in the jaw on Smackdown. Then the next day she celebrated her 32nd birthday.
Her face-off with Rousey was in front of one of the hottest WWE crowds in recent memory, and wrestling fans are salivating at the prospect that 'The Man' and the former UFC Champion could become the first women to main event Wrestlemania.
Lynch has become the most popular star, male or female, in the company over the past six months. This has been helped by her activity on social media, where she has relentlessly ripped the piss out of Rousey, Charlotte Flair, Chris Jericho and basically anyone who crosses her path.
Becky's tweets have been gaining a lot of traction recently and 'Ronnie' Rousey in particular is struggling to hold her own in the trash-talking department.
Ronnie, wish The Man a happy birthday you little weirdo. pic.twitter.com/Tei29bCRRI

Becky and Ronda's face-to-face promo was the standout moment of Raw this week, but it came after a pretty excruciating section of the show for Rousey where her 'sports entertainment' inexperience started to show. She fluffed part of her promo and had some awkward moments in a sloppy match against Bailey, so Becky was only too happy to remind her in a Tweet the next day.
No, I believe you’re a killer, Ronnie. You were murdering that whole segment until The Man bailed you out. https://t.co/d45HuyV4qh

Rousey hasn't had much luck in the Twitter wars at all in recent months.
“Siri, who is my biggest Stan?”
“Ronnie”
“Rousey?”
“Yes”
“Show me evidence”

Wrestling might technically be 'fake', but Becky and the women of WWE aren't afraid to stiff each other every now and then.

Former women's champion Nia Jax legitimately broke Lynch's nose with a stiff punch back in November, but Becky was able to put her in her place quite quickly.
Unrelated to anything, but in Ireland the slang word for ‘toilet’ is ‘Jax.’

A number of male WWE stars, past and present, have also been taken down by 'The Man.'

2019 is looking like the year of 'The Man.'
Cheers, Conor. I’m carrying two divisions at the moment, but you know exactly how that is. I hear New York is nice in the spring, though. 🇮🇪 https://t.co/51VSVCCG28

I’m going to Wrestlemania with an army behind me. Last year I was on the pre-show; this year I am the main event. pic.twitter.com/hqPCDQtUkl
