The NFL Championship weekend certainly didn't fail to deliver on excitement and drama. After a miraculous comeback from the Seattle Seahawks to overcome the Green Bay Packers in overtime, the New England Patriots dismantled the Indianapolis Colts to get the to SuperBowl showdown in Arizona in two weeks.
That doesn't mean the game in Foxborough was devoid of controversy though as Bob Kravitz reported that the Patriots were under investigation by the NFL.
Breaking: A league source tells me the NFL is investigating the possibility the Patriots deflated footballs Sunday night. More to come.

I'm told at one point the officials took a ball out of play and weighed it. Should hear more tomorrow on this subject.

Told if a league investigation confirms deflated footballs it will result in lost draft picks. Stay tuned.

The advantages of deflated balls is mostly for the offense, given that they are easier to grip, throw and catch. Given the huge 45-7 scoreline in the game, it's fair to say any possible deflating of balls wouldn't have had a material difference to the result.
Nobody is suggesting this is why the colts lost obviously. They were manhandled.

Cue the comedians on twitter coming up with some humourous puns:
@JeffLieber I do believe deflated balls are one of the side effects of steroids.
