Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton lead his team to the NFC Divisional Championship game this past season, where they were defeated by the Seattle Seahawks, but the man selected first overall in the 2011 NFL draft had been the butt of a running joke all year long that started back in training camp with the Panther's running backs.
Chris Ogbonnaya is a name not every fan of the NFL will be familiar with, as the Panthers running back only played in five games all season and bounced on and off the roster on two occasions, but then again with a name like Ogbonnaya perhaps he is more memorable than the countless Smiths and Johnsons that take up dozens of NFL roster spots.
Cam Newton was certainly intrigued by the name he saw on the back of a team-mate's jersey on the practise field, and when he innocently asked about the origin of that name he became the butt of a year long running joke.
