Picture credit: David Maher / SPORTSFILE James McCarthy seems likely to leave Wigan this Summer despite their apparent £20 million valuation of him. Players of this quality rarely stick around in the Championship and he looks to have no shortage of suitors especially after his excellent performance in Wigan’s most high-profile match of the season and probably ever, the FA Cup final. McCarthy... »
Tom Croft is one of the English media’s rugby darlings. He is definitely a quality player, but there is something unnerving about the way praise is lavished upon him after every good performance. Croft’s style of play seems to attract more superlatives and hyperbole than most others and Sky’s Stuart Barnes was a true wordsmith when remarking on Croft’s performance against t... »
Galway ran out 7 point winners against Laois yesterday but for a while it look like the underdogs could pull off one of the hurling championship’s biggest upsets in years. Laois took the lead in the 57th with this fine Tommy Fitzgerald goal. That finish was accompanied by an equally fine celebration from one of the stewards on the terrace behind the goal. Alex Cuthbert might have been uncomfortable yesterday during the Lions win over the Waratahs and Simon Zebo’s belting first half. That is probably far from his mind though as he took aim at O2 today. Roaming is tricky Alex, what’s the bonus for winning the test series? 3G is rediculous ???????? pic.twitter.com/at9yZI09xt — Alex Cuthbert (@acuthbert11) June 16, 2013 »

This video of Paddy Jackson and Simon Zebo rapping may have won the internet for the Irish duo. During some downtime last week in the middle of Ireland’s North American tour, the lads took some time to shoot this video of them lip synching and dancing to Jay-Z’s “Otis”. No words of ours can do this justice, just press play and enjoy the show. Paddy Jackson has previous in t... »
Somehow I don’t think the African American community have forgiven Sergio Garcia for his fried chicken comment. Garcia has started poorly at the US Open and has dropped a couple of early shots. Hollywood powerhouse Samuel L Jackson took to twitter to express his delight with typical Samuel L humour. Sergio blowin’ up early +2 thru 4 & just teed up OB! The ghost of Col. Sanders on d... »
Damien Duff isn’t quite the endearingly boring interview subject he once was. After telling the Irish Examiner how he received his 100th cap from John Delaney in a pub in Heathrow airport, the former Blackburn and Chelsea star humourously revealed that even footballers can suffer at the hands of dodgy internet streams. Didn’t make article last week, but interesting to note Damien Duff ... »
Richard Keys football agent? Maybe Keys was the one who nearly got Bale that move to Birmingham. 85 mill for Bale. Incredible to think Harry wanted to give him away. Jamie asked me and Andy to help find him another club. — Richard Keys (@richardajkeys) June 13, 2013 Is it possibly a fake account? Tom Adams of Eurosport says, no. The account has over 160,000 followers and appears legitimate.... »
Laune Rangers beat Kerins O’Rahillys in the first round Kerry Senior Football Championship last weekend. Former Kerry inter-county players Mike Frank Russell and Micheál Quirke were involved for their teams. When Russell went down quite easily under a challenge from Quirke, the big man chose to express his belief that MFR had done so in an unusual manner. He did a somersault. Yeah, that̵... »
