Here's a highly unusual tennis disqualification courtesy of Darian King of Barbados. The incident occurred during the Challenger circuit even in Charlottesville, Virginia.

In the second set of his first-round match, a frustrated King threw his racket into the tarpaulin behind the court after losing a point. The tarp absorbed the vast majority of the force behind the racket, which then lightly struck a line judge who proceeded to do her very best impression of Rivaldo v. Turkey in 2002.

King's immediate DQ gave the victory to Britain's Edward Corrie, who is ranked 217 in the world.

The incident brings to mind David Nalbandian's disqualification for kicking a line judge at Queen's Club in 2012.

King will surely be hoping that any apology he makes won't have to be as eye-gougingly awkward as Tim Henman's at Wimbledon in 1995. The Briton accidentally struck a ball girl in the head after smacking a ball away in a fit of anger. Henman was competing in a doubles match at the time and became the first player to be disqualified in the history of the tournament.
