The crucible used to be the centre of attention around this time of year, these days the world championships come and go without anyone really noticing. Yes, Ken Doherty gets an odd mention or two, enough to keep him on the Krystal guestlist but no one really cares, no where near the 17m+ who watched the sport in its heydey, today its in the doldrums and looked upon as Darts for people too busy to eat bacon bites.
