Fists flew just after Wigglesworth awarded the try and according to The Telegraph a fan threw a bottle of beer at the ref. Gloucester's Welsh scrum-half Travis Knoyle was sent off for throwing two punches during the melee.

Gloucester ended the game with just eleven players on the pitch after both Huia Edmonds and Mike Tindall had been sent to the sin bin minutes earlier and Sila Puafasi had received a red card seven minutes into the second half.

The RFU are investigating incident.
