As if seeing Ireland defeat the second best team in the world wasn't enough, we have also been given the privilege of seeing George Hook humbled by that heroic Irish effort. Hook analysis in the RTÉ studio before kick off was bleak to say the least. However, to be fair to him, while he may have been the most vocal, he wasn't the only person to doubt that this incredible victory would be possible.

His pre-match pessimism was an indication of just how tough a task a depleted Irish team faced, but they faced it with aplomb and, second to the actual match, this is exactly what Ireland fans would have wanted to see.
