Richest Rugby Players

The Telegraph have published the top 10 richest rugby players in the world according to their yearly salary. It shows how much the rugby landscape is shifting with 9 of the top 10 all plying (or about to ply) their trade in France.

Dan Carter's move to Racing Metro will make him the first £1 million rugby player, with Ireland's Johnny Sexton in the top 10. English saviour Sam Burgess is the only non Top 14 player in the list, with the former NRL star's new contract with Bath worth £500,000 a year.

It's interesting to note that these salaries are per year, and not per week as the footballers would be paid.
