We're no lawyers but from where we're standing if you commit a crime against someone who has just delivered unbridled joy to a large section of the nation, then your punishment should increase exponentially.

News emerged late last night that Joe Schmidt's home was burgled on Monday, the day after he masterminded the 19-9 victory over England at the Aviva Stadium. According to the Irish Independent, Schmidt's home in Churchtown, Dublin was broken into for the second time since he moved to Ireland in 2010.

Gardaí confirmed that they are investigating the break in which resulted in a 'sum of foreign currency being taken'. It is understood that the burglars gained entry to the house through a side window.

A break-in had previously occurred at the same address in 2012 while Schmidt was on Leinster duty in France. That time his 2011 Heineken Cup winners medal was stolen before being later recovered.
