Isa Nacewa Returns

It would take something exceptional to excite Leinster Rugby fans more than the prospect of Ireland and England playing for probably the Six Nations decider in Lansdowne Road today, but this scoop from the Sunday Times is probably going to do that.

If reports to be believed, Isa Nacewa is potentially set to make an amazing comeback out of retirement to play for Leinster for one more year - two years after he decided to retire from rugby.

It would be a hugely popular signing, and the Leinster hero, described by Brian O'Driscoll as "probably the best player I've ever played with", is keen to help the province through a World Cup season where they will be without their internationals for significant periods.

It is believed that Nacewa will sign on a one year contract, replacing Jimmy Gopperth as Leinster's fourth permitted none-Irish eligible player. The only potential hold up, if true, is the ratification required by IRFU's performance director David Nucifora.

Isa Nacewa spent five glorious seasons in Leinster from 2008, which coincided in the most successful period Leinster Rugby has ever had. He retired two seasons ago at the age of 30, sighting various injuries and his wife's homesickness. Since retiring, he has worked with the Auckland Blues as a mental skills coach. At 32, he now feels like there's still a bit of playing left in him.

Cead mile failte romhat a Isa.
