In another blow to Joe Schmidt ahead of the Six Nations, Munster lock Dave Foley has been ruled out of the entire tournament. Foley will undergo surgery for a wrist injury and will be out for up to three months.

Foley sustained the injury at the start of the second half during Munster's win over Sale in the Champions Cup at the weekend.

Ireland's second row options are now limited to Devin Toner, Mike McCarthy, Paul O'Connell and Iain Henderson with Foley joining Dan Tuohy on the sidelines.
