Both the Gardaí and the GAA are investigating a mass brawl from a Cork u16 club hurling match, when an incident between two players sparked a huge melee. As a result of the row, three players were brought to hospital, with one kept overnight before being released.
The Irish Examiner report that three people subsequently lodged complaints with the Gardaí over the incident. Superintendent Con Cadogan told the Examiner 'An investigation is now continuing. We will be speaking to people who were at the match and the referee.'
The match, between St Vincents and Valley Rovers, was abandoned shortly after half-time when the sides were tied at 2-10 apiece. Red FM's Neil Prenderville spoke to a supporter, who described the scenes:

The Cork County Board are also investigating the row, telling the Irish Examiner:
As it is currently being investigated, we will be make no comment at this time. We may or may not make a comment depending on the outcome of the investigation.
They now await the referee's report and statements from both clubs.
