Mayo and Brisbane Lions' Pearce Hanley is in the form of his career in Australia and Channel 7 picked him as their Player of the Round for the latest series of games. The Australian press are raving about Hanley who took home the Marcus Ashcroft medal, the award handed to the best player during the Brisbane Lions-Gold Coast Suns game (a Queensland derby).

The Herald Sun was gushing in its praise for the 25 year old Mayo man.

Hanley finished with 45 disposals, nine clearances, 11 inside 50 entries, two goals and three goal assists to highlight why he considered a genuine A-lister in the making.
