Jimmy Magee’s casual racism on RTÉ.
I’d really like to believe that this didn’t happen, but it did.
During a fight between Raushee Warren, a black boxer from the USA and Nordine Oubaali of France, Jimmy Magee said “one thing’s for sure, if there’s a blackout here in London, you’ll find Warren with those boots”. This was followed by a pause after which he said “you mightn’t see the rest of him”.
Jimmy Magee is a national treasure, many will try to give him a pass due to his age but it’s casual racism and it does not belong on TV.
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xsm1fe H/T to Ruairi Kelly and Niall Curran for the videos.Jimmy Magee just made a horrendously racist comment during the boxing on RTE Two.

Magee said if there was a blackout in London you’d be able to see the bright boots of the (black) boxer-but you wouldn’t see the rest of him
