Video: Conor McGregor Is Aiming For A Huge Number Of PPV Buys For The Aldo Fight

In an entertaining interview with Ariel Helwani (are they ever anything else when the Dubliner is involved?), Conor McGregor has revealed that he is pushing hard to reach the one million pay-per-view buys for his title fight against Jose Aldo in July.

The actual fight may be the main thing on McGregor's mind but he's well aware that his promotional abilities are key to his success and, at the end of the day, that means pay per view buys.

Speaking at a Reebok promotional event, McGregor discussed Ronda Roussey's performance at UFC 184 before going on to speak about how the featherweight division is now the Conor McGregor division. But what does that mean for the numbers?

One million, hopefully. By most estimates, that's something that has only been achieved once since October 2010. Chris Weidman vs Anderson Silva at 168 achieved that. And since UFC 1 it has been achieved just eight times. As an example of how big a number it is, George St Pierre never achieved the feat.

It will be very interesting to see if McGregor can do it. (McGregor and Aldo should we say)
