The take-over is gaining momentum after it was announced today that another Irish fighter has signed with the UFC, following in the footsteps of Joseph Duffy who also signed with the organisation last week.

Paul Redmond will make his UFC debut on January 24 at UFC on FOX 14 in Stockholm after he accepted a call-up as replacement for the injured Alan Omer, which means Redmond will be fighting the undefeated Mirsad Bektic, who holds a professional MMA record of 8-0-0.

Redmond has been fighting with Cage Warriors for the last number of years and has been in impressive form, winning his last two fights, and seven of his last eight in total. Bektic will provide a tough opening test as the Bosnian born fighter has yet to lose a fight as a pro, but we're hoping that will change on January 24.

Paul Redmond's acceptance of this fight means that two Irishmen will appear on the preliminary card for UFC on Fox 14, as Neil Seery's fight with Chris Beal was added to the card last month.
