The Conor McGregor - Muhammad Ali comparisons seemed to reach a peak during the NFC Championship in January. The UFC were keen ensure maximum coverage for the Dubliner's fight against Dennis Siver later that night and they did so with a high profile ad during the Seahawks vs Packers game.
While that was all well and good, quite a few people seemed to take exception to the moniker 'the Irish Muhammad Ali'. Even McGregor distanced himself from the comparisons at the time. However, that doesn't mean he can't pay homage to the great man.
Ali, then known as Cassius Clay, posed for Sports Illustrated with his winnings in front of a high security vault in 1964.
We can't imagine McGregor has been stockpiling his earnings in cash but nonetheless he treated fans to his take of the iconic picture alongside fellow SBG fighter Artem Lobov.
