Aidan O'Shea spoke to Off The Ball about not remembering aspects of Saturday evening's game. There were suggestions that O'Shea may have been concussed from his collision with Cillian O'Connor when he re-entered the pitch in the second half.
The Mayo team doctor, Sean Moffatt told the Independent he wasn't happy to see Aidan O'Shea or Cillian O'Connor return to the pitch for the second half 'until there was a period of observation.'
Moffatt insisted that with his 'knowledge of concussion' he was 'happy there were no further injuries.'
When probed by Adrian Barry and Colm Parkinson, O'Shea admitted he wasn't sure exactly what happened when he collided with O'Connor.
I don't know exactly what happened. I was trying to go on the outside of Cillian and he was trying to go in the inside. I seen three Kerry fellas and I decided to go on the inside. All I know is the two of us clashed heads. The doc just said the two of us clashed heads I don't know exactly what happened.
When Adrian Barry put it to him that he was concussed, O'Shea, sounding rather uncertain, paused before saying 'Emm... dazed'
He insisted that everything was done properly, all the correct tests were ran and that he was 'just a bit shook.'
