Mayo man Conor Melvin has taken a lot of undue criticism for his goalkeeping when playing for Seoul Gaels at the Malaysian Games. However, we contend he has more of a problem with his striking.
As he was winding up to lash a swashbuckling clearance up the pitch, his hurl mysteriously failed to connect with the sliotar. He then collided with the ground in spectacular fashion.

All told, it was the most violent air shots ever recorded. The referee was said to be particularly amused and, from the sounds of things, was no doubt unable to officiate satisfactorily in the immediate aftermath.
