Following Dublin's quarter-final exit from this season's Championship, there has been much speculation about the future of manager Anthony Daly. The Clare All-Ireland winning captain was appointed to the Dublin job in 2008 and has won a National League and a Leinster Championship since. Some now believe that Dublin require a fresh face in order to progress further.

Daly might not be long out of work if he were to step down, that is according to Martin Breheny in the Irish Independent today. Breheny claims that if Daly were to leave his Dublin post then he would be nominated for the Galway job.

Anthony Cunningham's time is up and if he wants to retain the role then he will have to go before the county board along with the other nominees. Cunningham enjoyed success winning the 2012 Leinster Championship but Galway suffered a disappointing first round qualifier exit this year with the belief being that the county now require someone new at the helm.

That someone new could be the Clareman.
