Does the Galway defence have a hope of containing Kerry?

We've looked at it from all angles.

But it's difficult to construct an argument for the callow, loose Galway backs keeping the shackles on Kerry's exuberant young forwards. Galway have made half-hearted attempts over the years to become more defensively orientated, to adapt to the cruel precepts of modern Gaelic football. Under Alan Mulholland, they appear to have tossed their hands up in the air and decided to work with what they have. What they have is good forwards.

They have conceded a whopping 7-26 in the past two matches. In their defence, they scored 4-33. Kerry to run up by a big score and win by 8 or 9 points.

The old Jim McGuinness route. We're familiar with it now. The weary sigh. The state of the nation tone. The abrupt changing of the direction of the interview in front of an interviewer who is only too delighted to see this happen.

During the week the air was awash with innuendo. Brian Cuthbert made comments the other day, urging the appointment of ‘a strong referee’ and, in the next breath, praising Mayo as ‘streetwise’, an obvious euphemism.

His selector, Ronan McCarthy didn't even try to camouflage his comments. Mayo are 'good at tactical fouling', he said.

Knowing Horan, (should Mayo win) his delivery will be probably be a bit more casual and offhand than McGuinness, steering clear of sanctimony. Something along the lines of:
