Speaking on BT Sport today ahead of the QPR-Stoke match, Danny Higginbotham has spoken about Roy Keane's expectation levels during his spell manager of newly-promoted Sunderland

With a fine disregard for the sanctity of the dressing room, the recently-retired journeyman and former Gibraltar international recounted a tale that was pure Roy. He said:

Roy Keane's expectation was between eighth and 10th. It wasn't realistic, the players weren't good enough to do that,

We got safe with three games to go, so second to last game at Bolton they beat us 2-0. After the game, Roy Keane has come in and he's gone around to every single player, 'you! you're the reason why I'm driving 100 miles every weekend to try and find a better player', 'you're a centre-forward and you can't find the back of the net', 'you can't defend to save your life!'

And the best bit was, just as he was walking out of the dressingroom, he says 'Another thing before you go, I'm ordering 30 umbro hoodies because when you do your lap of honour next week, you're going to have your hoods up because you should be ashamed, you shouldn't let the fans see you'.

He went on to say that Keane's biggest failing was the level of expectation and pressure that he placed on his newly-promoted side. He called Keane's approach a "recipe for disaster".

Higginbotham wasn't the first ex-player to tell tales of Roy Keane the manager. Jimmy Bullard didn't hold back in his book, as we saw back in May.
