Transfer Deadline Day's Greatest Tradition Is No More

Ring the death knell because the greatest example of football's new world order is no more. Cantona jumping into the crowd, Sergio Aguero running away with his arms aloft after clinching the title for City and Alan Irwin having a dildo shoved in his ear. They have all become iconic moments from the Premier League era but alas, we will never see the likes of one of them again.

News has broken that Sky Sports News have cancelled their usual transfer deadline day reporters outside the grounds chicanery. As reported in the Telegraph:

Sky Sports will NOT be doing live broadcasts with fans around from outside the grounds on transfer deadline day. Instead they will either pre-record reports or do them from inside the clubs.

The news comes after the last transfer deadline day reached all new levels of unsavouriness with a blow up doll and the above dildo being the stars of the show.

While the incidents with various adult paraphernalia were the most obvious, there was a more serious side to the transfer deadline day backlash that may have forced Sky's hand even more than a blow up doll.

Sky reporter Kaveh Solhekol was forced to abandon his post outside Selhurst Park after a protest by Crystal Palace fans about Sky's influence in English football threatened to take a turn for the worse.
