Robbie Keane, definitely as a result of this campaign, has been added to the 23-man MLS All-Star team to face Bayern Munich on August 6 in Portland, Oregon.

The side will be managed by Portland Timbers coach Caleb Porter and is made up of the MLS Fan XI, along with 10 players selected by coach Porter and two chosen by MLS Commissioner Don Garber.

Fellow overseas stars Tim Cahill and Jermaine Defoe were also added by the coach, while Thierry Henry and Obafemi Martins (Seattle Sounders FC) are the two non-Americans in the Fan XI.

The commissioner used his two selections to name Erick Torres from league-owned Chivas USA and Diego Valeri from the hometown Timbers.

2014 will be only the second time the league's All Stars will have faced non-US or British opposition. Last year's game was a 3-1 victory for AS Roma, while in recent years the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, West Ham, Everton and Celtic have fulfilled the fixture as part of their preseason preparations.
