Pictures Of The Proposed Anfield Redevelopment Have Been Leaked

Images have been circulated of a proposed redevelopment of Anfield stadium, which would increase the capacity from 45,522 to 58,500.

The main stand and the Anfield Road end would be significantly modernised and enlarged. The final designs are likely to include further improvements than those shown below. It is believed that CGI impressions of the final designs will be revealed before the all-important clash with Chelsea on Sunday.

The cost of the refurbishment is likely to cost around £150 million. According to the Daily Mail, “Liverpool are set to apply for planning permission to Liverpool City Council before the end of the season. Work on the new stadium will be in two stages, to be completed by 2018 if all goes to schedule.

The club are expected to apply for planning permission from Liverpool City Council before the end of the season. If everything goes to plan, the work is expected to be completed by 2018.

The existing seating area of the Main Stand would remain, with a new roof and extra seating being added above. All work work be completed around the existing stadium to avoid disruption to ticket sales.

A number of houses backing on to the stadium would need to be demolished to facilitate the redevelopment. Liverpool City Council is known to have agreed deals for at least 67 of the 71 homes affected, and is considering compulsory purchase orders for the remainder.
