Non-league outfit Hull United AFC have devised a fantastic plan to get more meat in the seat for their home matches - paying them.

The young club's owner Jamie Waltham has promised to give £2 to every fan that comes to see Utd play their Humber Premier League opener. The club will also be selling £2 pints at the match so that the spectators can either drown their sorrows or celebrate depending on what way the game pans out.

Everyone in Hull is really proud of what Hull City have achieved.

But I speak to a lot of people who feel priced out and prices go through the roof when you are in the best league in the world.

If 500 people come through the door then I'll pay out £1,000 because I feel that sometimes you have to give before you get back.

It's about offering an alternative and an incentive to come down and watching something a little bit different.

Waltham's bold move is in protest of the astronomically high ticket prices for Hull City's Premier League matches which is pricing a lot of supporters out of watching their beloved club.
