West Ham midfielder Mark Noble has not ruled out the prospect of playing football for the Republic of Ireland.

Speaking on 'Goals on Sunday' on Sky Sports, the 27-year-old said that he was disappointed to have been overlooked by Roy Hodgson for the England squad to face Norway (friendly) and Switzerland (Euro qualifier), and said that he will make a final call on his international allegiance in the coming weeks.

He said that he has not been in direct contact with Martin O'Neill but his agent has spoken to the Ireland manager. Said Noble:

"My nan and grandad are full Irish. But I’ve captained the England under-21s but I’m still young. I’m just going to think about things, but to be honest I haven’t thought about it. I tried to concentrate on the game yesterday and I was disappointed not to be called up for England.”

“I’d find it strange to pull on the green jersey because I’ve captained the England under-21s but you never know, football is a strange game, and I’ll make a decision over the next couple of weeks.”
