The plaudits for Seamus Coleman came more regularly than the vines of him making a fool of the opposition but that hasn't been enough for him to land a place on the PFA Player of the Year shortlist. Mainly because he is too old, being 25, when the cut off is 23.
The reaction has been predictably angry.
