By now you should have definitely seen the vine from Manchester United's Premier League opening day defeat to Swansea City, where Ashley Young appears to be the unfortunate recipient of fresh dollop of bird poo directly into his mouth. But just in-case you have been without access to the internet since it happened, here you go:

What everyone has been waiting to hear ever since, is confirmation as to what actually happened.

Unfortunately, Ashley Young himself claims he has no idea. Speaking to Sky Sports, Young had this to say on the viral vine incident:

I need to put it out there, I don't actually know. I don't know what happened. You would have seen a reaction from me. I've seen the video about 100 times. I don't know what it was. I need to get to the bottom of it.

Sorry Ash, but we just don't believe you.

The good news is, regardless of whether or not that actually was bird shit, the United lads have been giving him stick in the changing room.

After it actually happened - I don't know who it was and I need to get to the bottom of this as well - above my locker there was a pigeon put up. I walked in and thought 'oh no'. And that was it, everyone started taking pictures of it. Everyone thinks it actually happened. I don't know, I couldn't tell you.

There is definitely something suspicious about Young's insistence that he doesn't know what happened. Like you wouldn't notice a white substance falling from the sky directly into your mouth.

Perhaps we'll have to wait for his autobiography.
