Become a professional footballer, play for your country, travel the world maybe? Andy Keogh is not doing too badly in the 'things I want to do when I grow up' stakes. The Ireland international has done quite well for himself down under with ten goals in twenty league games and now that form is being recognised in the form of a significant cultural honour.
Keogh's international prospects haven't quite been as healthy since Giovanni Trapattoni departed in 2013 but that doesn't mean he can't still represent his country. The Perth Glory forward will lead the St Patrick's Day parade in his adopted home city after he was chosen as Grand Marshal of the Perth celebrations.
Speaking to Perth Glory's website, the Dubliner said he was looking forward to leading the celebrations for the significant Irish population of the city.
It’s a big occasion for the Irish people of Perth and everyone loves to celebrate it as well. It’s definitely a big deal, only one person can be picked for it, so it’s an honour and it’s going to be a great occasion.
Having said that, we're not quite so sure about the photoshoot that accompanied the announcement.
