Tyson Fury looks set to challenge for a world heavyweight championship, with a fight against long-reigning kingpin Wladimir Klitschko expected before the end of 2015.
Last week Klitschko told iFilm London TV that his next opponent would definitely be the Manchester-born 26-year-old, whose father hails from Galway. The 6'9, undefeated former Irish heavyweight titleist is, shall we say, one of the more colourful figures in world boxing, with a penchant for a song after many of his victories- but Fury has long been vocal in his pursuit of Klitschko and it looks like he'll finally get his date with destiny this year.
The WBA have ordered that Klitschko fights Fury within 6 months as a mandatory defence of his title, with a 30-day negotiation period set to be ordered in the coming weeks.
Though the outspoken Fury considers himself of dual nationality, he has previously stated his wish to become Ireland's first ever heavyweight champion - in Croke Park, no less - but the fight will likely instead take place in either London, Manchester or Germany.
