If You Watched The Mayweather Fight, Manny Pacquiao Is Being Sued On Your Behalf

If you shelled out any money to watch Floyd Mayweather duck and dive out of the way of some (relatively) weak punches from Manny Pacquiao then two men are fighting a case for you.

Nevada natives Stephane Vanel and Kami Rahbaran have filled a lawsuit against Pacquiao over the fact that they believe they were defrauded by the Filipino's failure to disclose a torn rotator cuff in the build up to the big fight.

Yesterday, reports emerged that Pacquiao was in danger of being charged with perjury after choosing to tick 'no' on a questionnaire which asked if he was suffering from a shoulder injury. Included in reports yesterday was a warning for Pacquiao that there was precedent for a civil lawsuit in cases such as this.

That warning hasn't taken long to come to pass with Vanel and Rahbaran seeking compensation under consumer protection law. The suit is being filed as a class action on behalf of anyone who paid to watch the fight or anyone who gambled on it.

However, if that includes you, don't expect any money back. CNBC are reporting that the Nevada pair 'are seeking $5 million on behalf of themselves and more than 100 other ticket holders'. So it's on your behalf but in theory more than in practice.
