In an exclusive interview with UTV Ireland, which will broadcast on Ireland Live at 10 this Friday, Carl Frampton reveals that he wants to be “a legend in Irish sport”, as he prepares to go head-to-head with Chris Avalos in his first title defence this Saturday night, in the IBF Super Bantamweight Challenge.

Speaking to Ger Gilroy for the programme’s weekly sports round-up every Friday night, Frampton explained how he wants Irish sports fans to talk about his fights in the same way they do for those of his mentor, Barry McGuigan:

UTV Ireland will exclusively broadcast the IBF Super Bantamweight Challenge this Saturday, 28th February, live at 10.50pm. In addition to securing broadcasting rights for the fight, UTV Ireland will also broadcast a behind-the-scenes documentary called ‘Carl Frampton – Days of The Jackal’, at 11pm this Friday – directly after the exclusive Ireland Live interview.
