Michael Sam will be the first openly gay player in the NFL if he is picked by a team come May's draft at Radio City Music Hall in New York. It is highly likely that he will be taken by a team, he is after all the current SEC defensive player of the year.
One Republican lobbyist named Jack Burkman is not happy with this prospect and has proposed legislation to ban gays from playing in the league.
